Uncle Mattie was born in 1912 and was married to Nellie, they had 7 children Pat,Kathleen Gerard, Patricia, Irene, Bernadette,and Dermot. He worked as a Sawer in a factory on the South Lotts Rd. (where the E.S.B. social club is now situated) and then in Behans Box factory Ringsend . He died on the 1st. of June 1986 aged 74." I remember Mattie as a John Wayne lookalike, and always looked forward to seeing him."
